Finding employment is one of the biggest challenges faced by many older adults, and JCA helps jobseekers in several ways.
We host annual 50+ Employment Expos in Maryland and Virginia that connect thousands of jobseekers with local employers who value what older workers can offer, and our innovative Career Gateway workshop helps professionals hone their job-search skills so they can land a job.
JCA also manages the Senior Community Service Employment Program for Montgomery and Frederick Counties, and we are the older worker expert for WorkSource Montgomery. Keep reading to learn more about these programs.
Thousands of mid-life and older job-seekers network with area employers and community resource organizations, get a free resume review, and learn new job-search skills at our annual 50+ Employment Expos, held in both Maryland and Virginia. At the Expos, you will find dozens of employers with available jobs and community resources that help with employment searches.
Expos are FREE to Job-Seekers and no pre-registration is required.
The 2017 Maryland 50+ Expo will be held Monday, April 3 from 10:00 AM-3:00 PM at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center 5701 Marinelli Road, North Bethesda.
NOTE: Due to parking lot construction please pull up to the Conference Center entrance. You then will be directed to the offsite parking lot. There is a shuttle to transport you back and forth (2 minute ride). Parking is FREE.

Finding the best candidates to perform at a high level is always a challenge for employers. Job Seekers who are in their 50s and better have the experience you need and will represent your company with integrity and maturity. Employers seeking highly qualified candidates are invited to exhibit at our Expos. While there is no fee to exhibit, pre-registration is required.
Because older Job Seekers often face obstacles, the Expos also invite organizations that serve these candidates to exhibit their services. Again, pre-registration is required, but there is no fee to reserve an exhibit table.

Senior Community Service Employment Program
The JCA Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) provides on-the-job training for low-income men and women age 55 and older who live in Montgomery and Frederick counties, Maryland.
Trainees receive minimum wage while working at charities and government agencies to build their skills and resumes while delivering valuable community service.
