Sunday, April 27, starting at 5:00 p.m.:  The Northern Virginia Jewish community will remember the Holocaust through an interfaith program at the Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia, 8900 Little River Turnpike, Fairfax).  Starting at 5:00 p.m., there will be name readings and art exhibits followed by a 6:00 -7:00 p.m. seminar about media coverage and American public opinion in the Holocaust years, presented by Allan Lichtman, noted co-author of "FDR & the Jews".  The evening will culminate in a community commemoration with prayers, a community choir and dance, and intergenerational candle-lighting.  The commemoration will run from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.

Sunday, May 4, 2014:  JCA will blast limiting stereotypes about aging at its festive Productive Aging Award Dinner.  Sally Quinn (author and Washington Post journalist) will receive the 21st Productive Aging Award, and The Hon. Sidney Kramer (a Life Member of the JCA Board) will receive the year's Humanitarian Award.  Bob and Arlene Kogod are honorary chairs.  Susan Finkelstein (Board Member) and Linda Rosenzweig (Assistant Treasurer) co-chair.  
     Festivities will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Washington Hebrew Congregation with a reception filled with good friends, hot hors d'oeuvres, beautiful string music and plenty of wine. A delicious dinner will follow, catered by Occasions.  Complimentary valet parking will be available.

Monday, May 12, 2014:  Retool, recharge and reinvent at the 50+ Employment Expo in Montgomery County, MD, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Marriott Bethesda North Hotel & Conference Center.  There, jobseekers can meet with hiring employers, learn from community resource organizations, attend seminars, get a resume review and more -- all for free.  Although jobseekers need not preregister, exhibitors must complete a registration form.
